Background:

The client is an emerging lithium producer and has started looking into transforming spodumene concentrate from one of its mining projects into battery-grade lithium hydroxide.

Scope of Services:

Synectiq assisted the client to complete internal economic and technical assessments in preparation for more advanced technical studies. Synectiq was responsible for:

  • Developing the design criteria and flowsheet for the processing of spodumene concentrate and its conversion into lithium hydroxide;
  • 3D modelling of future facilities and the general layout.
  • Defining the project structure;
  • Project controls (timeline and costs);
  • Estimating capital and operating expenditures;
  • Financial modelling;
  • Producing an internal technical report;
