Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, the position holder will be part of the engineering team dedicated to the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation (EI&A) department. The Lead will oversee the EI&A team and support the development of its personnel.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team of EI&A engineers and technicians;
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to ensure team efficiency and professional development;
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance evaluations for team members;
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in EI&A engineering processes to increase productivity, reduce costs, and improve safety;
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies and materials to optimize system performance;
- Promote a safety culture within the department and ensure compliance with safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle;
- Act as Lead Engineer in Instrumentation and Automation for the company’s strategic mandates;
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and other engineering disciplines to define and propose effective solutions;
- Optimize the allocation of EI&A engineering resources to ensure timely completion of all engineering activities;
- Manage engineering projects from design through completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality objectives;
- Monitor and track project costs, identify deviations or risks, and take corrective action;
- Provide regular updates on project progress, performance, and potential challenges;
- Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss progress, timelines, and technical challenges;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for management, clients, contractors, and stakeholders regarding EI&A matters;
- Implement best practices in design, procurement, construction, and maintenance activities;
- Oversee the design, development, and optimization of electrical distribution and process control systems for mineral processing plants and mining operations;
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and external consultants to ensure project success;
- Review and approve designs, calculations, and technical documents;
- Ensure that all designs and installations comply with health and safety standards, industry regulations, project requirements, and company policies;
- Officially sign and seal engineering documents at the EI&A department level;
- Conduct regular reviews, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality requirements.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other relevant field;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role;
- Member with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Project;
- Proficiency in both spoken and written French and English.
Interpersonal and Personal Skills :
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving abilities;
- Good organizational skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- High level of autonomy;

Sous la supervision du Gestionnaire de l’ingénierie le/la Coordonnateur(trice) – Services d’ingénierie devra soutenir les activités opérationnelles du département des services d’ingénierie. Il/elle devra également superviser l’équipe de dessins ainsi que l’équipe de contrôle documentaire. Responsabilités Principales :
Contrôle documentaire (rôle de coordination et de supervision)
- Assurer la supervision et l’encadrement de l’équipe de contrôle documentaire.
- Veiller à ce que la gestion, la mise à jour et l’archivage des documents techniques soient réalisés conformément aux standards établis.
- S’assurer du respect et de l’application rigoureuse des procédures internes de contrôle documentaire.
- Superviser la transmission des livrables aux clients et partenaires.
- Soutenir et accompagner l’équipe documentaire dans la résolution de problématiques opérationnelles.

Déploiement QA/QC (rôle de supervision et d’assurance qualité)
- Superviser l’application des processus QA/QC pour l’ensemble des livrables techniques.
- Encadrer les équipes dans l’implantation et le respect des bonnes pratiques qualité.
- Identifier les écarts et proposer des mesures correctives et préventives.
- Contribuer activement à l’amélioration continue des processus qualité.
Drafting (coordination de l’équipe de dessin)
- Superviser et encadrer l’équipe de dessin.
- Assurer la planification et la coordination des livrables techniques (2D et 3D).
- Maintenir une vision globale de l’avancement des modèles et des dessins.
- S’assurer de la cohérence entre les modèles 3D, les dessins d’ingénierie et les exigences des projets.
- Soutenir l’équipe dans la résolution de problématiques techniques ou organisationnelles.
- Proposer des améliorations aux méthodes de travail et aux standards de dessin.
Profil du titulaire du poste
Qualifications
- Formation technique en dessin industriel, en technologie du génie ou dans un domaine connexe (obligatoire).
- Expérience en environnement de dessin technique ou en modélisation (2D/3D).
- Expérience en contrôle documentaire (un atout important).
- Expérience en coordination d’équipe ou en coordination de livrables techniques.
- Démonstration d’un leadership naturel et d’une capacité à prendre des responsabilités progressivement.

He/She will also oversee the drafting team as well as the document control team. He/She will contribute to the coordination of deliverables across all projects and to the deployment of QA/QC processes.
Main Responsibilities
Document Control (coordination and supervision role)
- Supervise and provide leadership to the document control team.
- Ensure that the management, updating, and archiving of technical documents are carried out in accordance with established standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal document control procedures.
- Oversee the transmission of deliverables to clients and partners.
- Support and assist the document control team in resolving operational issues.
- Implement improvements and propose innovative solutions to optimize processes and promote continuous improvement.
QA/QC Deployment (supervision and quality assurance role)
- Supervise the application of QA/QC processes across all technical deliverables.
- Guide teams in implementing and adhering to quality best practices.
- Identify gaps and propose corrective and preventive actions.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes.
Drafting (drafting team coordination)
- Supervise and manage the drafting team.
- Ensure planning and coordination of technical deliverables (2D and 3D).
- Maintain an overall view of model and drawing progress.
- Ensure consistency between 3D models, engineering drawings, and project requirements.
- Support the team in resolving technical or organizational issues.
- Propose improvements to working methods and drafting standards.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Technical diploma in industrial drafting, engineering technology, or a related field (required).
- Experience in technical drafting or modeling environments (2D/3D).
- Experience in document control (strong asset).
- Experience in team coordination or coordination of technical deliverables.
