The Gaspé Copper project is a past producing copper mine which was operated from 1955 until its closure in 1999. A total of 150 million tonnes of copper ore were extracted. In 2022, Osisko Metals exercised its option to acquire the project from Glencore Canada, with the intent to continue exploration and to redeploy infrastructure at the site to re-initiate operations in the near future. In the short term, the goal is to help the project progress with an internal conceptual study and a preliminary economic assessment.
